About House of Soca Calypso Tent

House of Soca Calypso Tent, "The Now-Generation," is a vibrant hub for cultural expression and artistic excellence in Barbados. Since its inception, the tent has been dedicated to nurturing talent, preserving the rich tradition of calypso, and delivering unforgettable performances that captivate audiences.

Our Journey

Elevating Artistry, Empowering Voices

In 2024, The House elevated its commitment to excellence by launching an intensive training initiative in partnership with BIMAP and the TVET Council. Over 75 hours of workshops in songwriting, performance, and personal branding empowered our artistes to return to the stage with renewed fire and finesse. The result? A season of unforgettable “tentertainment” that left audiences hungry for more.

Historic Achievements

Three House Stars

With the support of our Title Sponsor, the C.O. Williams Group of Companies, and a host of dedicated partners, The House lit up venues across the island—from Jackman’s in St. Michael to the Wildey Gymnasium. These performances weren’t just shows—they were milestones. Mr. Deejay, a visually impaired performer, made history as the first differently-abled calypsonian to reach the Pic-O-De-Crop finals. Sir Ruel delivered a soul-stirring tribute to his late brother, earning 1st Runner-Up with “A Single Bullet.” And Billboard brought lyrical fire with “War,” securing a top-four finish.

These three standout performers—Sir Ruel, Mr. Deejay, and Billboard—have become known as our Three House Stars, a trio whose talent, resilience, and artistry embody the spirit of The House.

As we look ahead to 2025, our artistes—many of whom were inspired by a cultural exchange in Trinidad—are ready to raise the bar once again. The House of Soca remains committed to nurturing talent, celebrating culture, and delivering performances that resonate far beyond the Crop Over season.
